Vandal Watch is a community-based vandalism prevention initiative to protect schools within the jurisdiction of School District # 43 (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra) as well as parks and community centres in the City of Port Coquitlam.  Local residents form Vandal Watch chapters. The main task of a chapter is to ensure that neighbours bordering the neighbourhood’s school, park or community centre are provided the confidential phone number of the Vandal Watch Tip Line.

These neighbours can make an anonymous call to the Vandal Watch Tip phone number when they see problems are forming, before the acts of vandalism occur.

Once Vandal Watch has received a call, Security Personnel are dispatched to the scene. Their arrival is often enough to break up the problem. However, in more serious situations, local police may be contacted.
